OUR PROCESS
We understand that when you entrust your most loved ones into our hands, you trusted in our ability to care for them. We appreciate that trust and promise to not let you down. To that end, we go through a stringent hiring and training process to qualify volunteers and fully equip them with the necessary skills for the best possible outcome.
HIRING
All applicants go through a 4-stage verification process prior to being interviewed. We verify them through appropriate channels
Aadhar card Residence address
Referrals (local Govt officials – Sarpanch, Mandal president, etc.)
Third-party criminal background check
Interview process: A rigorous interview is conducted to ensure the volunteer is truly passionate about caregiving to the elderly, behavior evaluation thru psychometric tests, and careful observations with a personal interview. Applicants who successfully pass through all these evaluations will go through a diligent training program.
TRAINING
Aaptha partnered with Joy Foundation, a similar non-profit organization run by Dr. Raj Kumar – a social activist. Dr. Raj Kumar is highly regarded for his voluntary services, he conducts medical camps every Saturday at his village Padakal and runs an old-age home in Madhapur. This partnership gave us access to a well-established training infrastructure including training caregivers at the hospital, nursing home, and an old-age facility.
Below is a list of sample functions volunteers are trained on:
Check vitals First aid
IV and MV insulin injection Bed making
Tube feed Wounds – cleaning and dressing
Mange urine pipes Physiotherapy
Additionally, orientation sessions are conducted on the importance of the elderly service, respect their needs, acknowledge and understand their problems and provide emotional support.
